Hurts #Wounds and Scars [ Part 1]

The world we live in is becoming more complex and the human species trump the list of complexities. Many people have been hurt and wounded in more ways than one and so carry numerous scars that no amount of cover up can conceal. I for one, have had my fair share of hurts, wounds and scars. I will like to share some of my experiences hoping it will encourage someone.

Time for hard truth has come. Strong expose on very serious issues of life am sure are the reason most people take up blogging. Issues that deal with all aspect of life and living are dissected in ways that impact the readers and help them find solution to whatever they are challenged with. The bloggers do this using well researched, evidence based facts as well as their own life experiences. Avid readers read, learn and apply lessons learnt to improve their lives. It is borne out of the impact seasoned bloggers made in my life that I choose to blog, perchance I will also influence other lives positively.

Before I delve into this matter, it will be nice for you the reader to know if you have been wounded too. Yes, it is important you know for the bible said

“And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”

John 8: 32 NLT

Many people live in denial and so consequently deny themselves of varied opportunities to seek and receive help. So if you go through the identification list here and find out that you too are wounded, I beg of you to follow through the series that I have taken weeks to put together for your benefit, as I too learn from most of what I write about.  So the question now is are you wounded and emotionally too. Here is how you know if you are.

Any experience that hurt you real good making you feel bad each time you remember it, most likely wounded your soul. These wounds are emotional and psychological traumas that are damaging mentally and physically. These traumas can come from heartbreak, all kind of abuses especially emotional ones, rejection, betrayal and many more.

These are some of the signs that you have been emotionally wounded. You have flashbacks. There are two types, explicit and implicit. Explicit one is memory based and you find yourself reliving those events all over again.  Implicit ones are driven by emotions that trigger unexplained emotional outbursts.

These are “7 signs you’re emotionally wounded” by Psych2go.net and I do agree with them.

  1. You have low self-esteem. These wounds hurt and make you doubt your self-worth. Most times verbal abuses you were subjected to make you feel small, worthless and ashamed.
  2. You have trouble controlling your emotions. You are easily angered and so lash out over small things. You also have a hard time quietening your mind and staying calm.
  3. You find yourself eating emotionally. You just binge on food because of pain, stress or discomfort.
  4. You have a chaotic sleep schedule. You have trouble falling asleep and staying asleep. You wake up often at night and often times sleep too much. You experience night mares and anxiety.
  5. You have a heavy heart. You often times feel sad for just no reason. You cry and feel so sad, and when this sad feeling persists, you become emotional numb, going from very sad to not feeling anything at all.
  6. You feel the most secure by yourself. Spending time alone makes you feel calm and safe.
  7. You have trust issues making it hard for you to feel secure around others. You avoid social events and isolate more.

All the above signs might seem daunting but there is a way out dear. Healing is possible if you are prepared to do what needs to be done to have it. For the healing talked about to begin you must be mindful of the following.

  1. Awareness. knowing you have been wounded.
  2. Wakefulness. Waking up to the fact that you are hurting, wounded and have scars.
  3. Accepting and not denying the hurts, the wounds and the scars
  4. Willing to go through the Healing Process involving Forgiveness first for yourself, for those that directly hurt you and the ones who rejected you or treated you poorly because of what you went through or still going through.
  5. Seeking to find out reasons why God allowed the hurts, wounds and scars in the first place.
  6. Cataloguing Lessons learnt, using them to improve your life and impacting others with the new improved you.

As we work through this topic we will be dealing with all these in details and experientially too, so please stay with me.

The cosmos is said to be an ordered place, ruled by laws and principles, yet within that order exists chaos, unpredictability, and the unexpected. Perhaps true balance is not about eliminating chaos but embracing it, learning to see the beauty in disorder, the harmony within the unpredictable. Maybe to truly understand the universe, we must stop trying to control it and simply become one with its rhythm.

  36. All knowledge, it is said, comes from experience, but does that not mean that the more we experience, the wiser we become? If wisdom is the understanding of life, then should we not chase every experience we can, taste every flavor, walk every path, and embrace every feeling? Perhaps the greatest tragedy is to live cautiously, never fully opening oneself to the richness of being.

  37. The potential within all things is a mystery that fascinates me endlessly. A tiny seed already contains within it the entire blueprint of a towering tree, waiting for the right moment to emerge. Does the seed know what it will become? Do we? Or are we all simply waiting for the right conditions to awaken into what we have always been destined to be?

  39. I’d have to examine with you here. Which is not one thing I usually do! I take pleasure in reading a post that may make folks think. Additionally, thanks for permitting me to comment!

  40. Virtue, they say, lies in the middle, but who among us can truly say where the middle is? Is it a fixed point, or does it shift with time, perception, and context? Perhaps the middle is not a place but a way of moving, a constant balancing act between excess and deficiency. Maybe to be virtuous is not to reach the middle but to dance around it with grace.

  41. The essence of existence is like smoke, always shifting, always changing, yet somehow always present. It moves with the wind of thought, expanding and contracting, never quite settling but never truly disappearing. Perhaps to exist is simply to flow, to let oneself be carried by the great current of being without resistance.

  42. Friendship, some say, is a single soul residing in two bodies, but why limit it to two? What if friendship is more like a great, endless web, where each connection strengthens the whole? Maybe we are not separate beings at all, but parts of one vast consciousness, reaching out through the illusion of individuality to recognize itself in another.

  47. If everything in this universe has a cause, then surely the cause of my hunger must be the divine order of things aligning to guide me toward the ultimate pleasure of a well-timed meal. Could it be that desire itself is a cosmic signal, a way for nature to communicate with us, pushing us toward the fulfillment of our potential? Perhaps the true philosopher is not the one who ignores his desires, but the one who understands their deeper meaning.
