In part 1 qualities like smiling, respect, gratitude, support and pampering were x-rayed. 6. Boundaries: Men love boundaries. No man wants a woman who suffocates him. Men need their space to think, so does women even the kids and house assistants as well. Everyone needs space to not just breathe easy but to figure things out. In a very complicated world as ours, with so much going on and people inundated with myriad issues, even children are sometimes overwhelmed with the goings on. My daughter used to ask me to cut her a slack. She needs to unwind and clear her head she says. How so true, but I never could understand then what a teenager could be unwinding from, but now I know. Oh how we never ever knew what a lot of people go through especially adolescents and young people and even children.
How so wrong we all are. In a world of today where children are no longer allowed to be kids how much more teenagers who have been robbed of all innocence that comes with their age. And so are the husbands who are overburdened with all manner of issues, from the security of their families to financial, spiritual, social and many other challenges. The women also are not left out as they are also encumbered with their own issues. To keep up with these demands everyman needs to be allowed space to sort these things out and not cave under the weight of the pressure and demands of the world of today.
7. Tolerant and accommodating: Every man wants a woman that can tolerate them, their relatives, friends and colleagues and all other people in their lives. Most accommodating women are always winners as over the years, many from relatives to even stranger, attest to the kindness shown them by these women. I remember growing up living with over 6 to 10 relatives at any time. My house was the hub for all; even distant relatives found our place a haven. I used to wonder till date how my parents especially my mother could take on such huge responsibility of caring for all these people and never complained for a day. What seemed to amaze me though, was the fact that every one of them knew their place and behaved relatively well unlike today when people are mixed up and feeling so entitled. When men know their wives can take in their friends and family and care for them like they are theirs, there is nothing within their means they will not give to such wives.
8. Loyalty / Fidelity: – Everyman seeks loyalty from his woman. Most homes and relationships have been destroyed because of infidelity. Some men can forgive a disloyal wife but not one who cheated as well. Men can cheat and get away with it in this clime but not women. As much as men seeks respect they also seek faithful and loyal wives that they can vouch for. With the stories we hear about women who father four children from four different men in their matrimonial homes, men are now very careful, so women beware. But even as women are being warned, men should also know that they are reaping the fruit of the wide oaths they have also sown disrespecting their wives like they do not have feelings and deserve respect and faithfulness as they do.
9. Understanding: Every man wants a woman that can understand him, understand prevailing circumstances and whatever the times we live in brings. No man wants a gold digger, rather men want who will be their anchor person supporting them with all they can and not be too demanding especially during lean times.
10. God fearing /Kind: Men want considerate, kind hearted women who are thoughtful, God fearing and can raise God fearing children as well. No one wants a wicked Jezebel as wife rather they want the woman all can call blessed and a mother. Men want praying wives who will help keep the spiritual atmosphere of their homes alive and healthy always. Men want women who are honest not giving to idling away, gossiping and keeping bad friends. They want wives that are home, keeping a tidy home and not wondering about getting into every one’s business.
Feminity: Men want women that ooze feminity. No man wants a fellow man. Every man wants a gentle and soft spoken woman whose voice is mellow and soothing. There is nothing a soft spoken woman cannot get away with especially when the words are spoken at the right time in a right way with the right words. Women with these qualities are known as virtuous women. They know how to not put fuel in a burning fire and so drive away strife and stress from their homes.

Who[c] can find a [d]virtuous wife? For her worth is far above rubies. The heart of her husband safely trusts her; So he will have no lack of gain. She does him good and not evil. All the days of her life. She seeks wool and flax, And willingly works with her hands.
She is like the merchant ships, She brings her food from afar. She also rises while it is yet night,And provides food for her household, And a portion for her maidservants.
She considers a field and buys it; From [e]her profits she plants a vineyard. She girds herself with strength, And strengthens her arms. She perceives that her merchandise is good, And her lamp does not go out by night. She stretches out her hands to the distaff, And her hand holds the spindle. She extends her hand to the poor, Yes, she reaches out her hands to the needy She is not afraid of snow for her household,
For all her household is clothed with scarlet. She makes tapestry for herself;
Her clothing is fine linen and purple. Her husband is known in the gates,
When he sits among the elders of the land. She makes linen garments and sells them,
And supplies sashes for the merchants. Strength and honor are her clothing;
She shall rejoice in time to come She opens her mouth with wisdom,
And on her tongue is the law of kindness. She watches over the ways of her household,
And does not eat the bread of idleness. Her children rise up and call her blessed;
Her husband also, and he praises her: “Many daughters have done well,
But you excel them all.” Charm is deceitful and beauty is passing, But a woman who fears the Lord, she shall be praised. Give her of the fruit of her hands, And let her own works praise her in the gates.
This proverb is descriptive of most women in Nigeria, honestly our women deserve accolades and honour. So men cut the women a slack like my daughter used to say.
There are so many other attributes men yearn for in women; from being sexy and appealing to being well kept, neat and trendy as long as it is not provocative. Men want women who are intelligent and can hold their own everywhere. Men want women who have a mind of their own and cannot be swayed by anything or anyone. And list goes on and on.
