Bible hope is that God is able to fix whatever is broken. We all learn from every mistake we make. In this election, all stakeholders will and must learn. I just know that is not business as usual. We will receive so much more than we lost, Nigeria will come out better with the outcome of this election than anything else in her history, so people hold on to hope.
Election Result Gloom
Did you see the numbed feeling and the despondency that hung in the air and atmosphere all over Nigeria at the announcement of the election all over Nigeria. It was interesting to note that even at the winning camp there was no joy nor rejoicing as their false win could not bring the desired triumphant joy and happiness that comes with a well won and deserving victory. I watched on line as those who tried to celebrate their victory began to apologize to others who they knew they stole their deserving victory from. People must be mindful of the camp they choose to be in because of selfish gains, cause the gain will soon taste like sand in their mouth.
Not long from now, that is, if it is not already happening, most of the people that choose self over national patriotism will go to bed feeling terribly bad and regretting going after physical gain instead of standing for fairness and justice. It is amazing how selfishness denies us from greater and more glorious opportunities because we were unable to factor the good of all instead of self. It is sad that the unperceptive who could not discern the season and time we are in, and so choose stomach infrastructure have ultimately decided their fate.
Organizations and individuals both nationally and internationally will relate with many people differently after now based on the values they choose to promote and stand by. The strength of their character have been displayed for all to see.

People must from now on decide what they will be defined by. We must outgrow all that have become mundane, irrelevant and despicable. We must grow to where we are ready to be responsible and accountable for every choice and decision we make individually. We mature and grow to a point where we no longer need any affiliation to influence us negatively. We should never allow our needs, wants and desires nor should we allow greed, pride and avarice lead us astray. The time to allow our conscience guide us has come. And like the bible says, if your conscience is already compromised then ask God, because He is stronger and bigger than your conscience. Saint Paul in the book of Roman’s writes stating that even the people not yet called by God are equally equipped with a moral guidance or compass to help them work out issues of right and wrong.
“Indeed, when Gentiles, who do not have the law, do by nature things required by the law, they are a law for themselves, even though they do not have the law. They show that the requirements of the law are written on their hearts, their consciences also bearing witness, and their thoughts sometimes accusing them and at other times even defending them”. Rom. 2:14-15 [NIV]
In the video post I made encouraging people to vote, I called people out asking each person to allow their conscience to choose for them who to vote for. I never asked anyone to vote for any party not even the labour party I adopted because of the principal leader that I know his track records. I believed that if people allowed their conscience to guide them, they will know exactly who to vote for. We must at a certain stage of our lives be able to make better choices.
The evidential landslide victory that swept through the nation for labour party is now a precedent for all that character and godly principles can be and do. Nigeria will be better equipped to serve God and people if the right leader is presented and supported by all tribes. Nigeria and Nigerians must be submissive to the process God has chosen to redeem us. We must stop fighting change for when it comes it will sweep away our fears and cause the will of God to become apparent to us.
The older generation are scared of the younger ones because they are afraid of the consequences of their sins. They are full of trepidation of what might befall them if the young ones take over and call them to account for the mismanagement of the nation Nigeria. And so they cling unto power, so terrified of loosing power and control with which they have held us in bondage over decades, refusing to accept the perfect will of God. If only they can see that by letting go, the ones they erred against will be so magnanimous by not just forgiving them but by getting them to repent and have the chance to bring godly wisdom to the young ones they have been fighting off all these years.
These old politicians must repent and bow out with respect while the ovation is still loud. Repent literally means changing one’s minds which in turn leads to change of direction. The time for that change is now so that posterity will not judge them harsher than they would have been judged. With their change of mind will come the release of all they have feared and embrace the freedom that will come with it. With them handing over the battle of leadership to the young generation will come the freedom they have secretly sought but did not know how to get. When people do not know the outcome of their future they fear and tend to hold on to what they have, but in holding on to the past and faulty present, they deny themselves of the greatness the future holds for them.
I just like the lyrics of Asa’s track “Jailer”. She goes
“I’m in chains, you’re in chains too, I wear uniforms and you wear uniforms too, I’m a prisoner, You’re a prisoner too, Mr. Jailer. …You suppress all my strategies, you oppress every part of me, what you don’t know, You’re a victim too, Mr. Jailer… You don’t care about my point of view, If I die another will work for you, So you treat me like a modern slave, Mr. Jailer, stop calling me a prisoner …”
As the old hold on to power imprisoning the young that are better equipped to bring the desired innovative selfless leadership that will work for all; they become prisoners themselves. And like the prisoner who is afraid of what life outside prison will be, they are trapped and so hold on to power. They have perceived what wrath will befall them if they let go of the power with which they have been imprisoning others. They thus fear they too will be imprisoned if the tables are turned. But how little they know about the spirit of Nigerians, especially the young ones. Nigerians are generally very forging and the young ones will not come for their throats if they do the right thing now. Though they will be called to return most of the loots they stored away that are just too much for any man alive to use alone. But in repenting, choosing to make restitution and return their booties they will free themselves from the wrath of God and man.
When they do, the young people will be merciful for they too have their own misgivings. Like Asa sang
“If you walking in a market place, Don’t throw stones, Even if you do, you just might hit one of your own, Life is not about your policies. All the time, so you better rearrange your philosophies.
Asa goes on in her song calling them out to be good.
“So you better rearrange your philosophies, and be good to your fellow man, Jailer!.
It is therefore now time to decide. For the older ones it is time to let go off that which you have held on to for too long that has not added to your wellbeing. It’s time to let go your captors that have ultimately imprisoned you. It is time to let go off anger, pain, wrongs, enemies and even sicknesses you now call your own. It is time to let go off positions and possessions that are now burdens, dragging you down to the grave ahead of your God given time on earth. It is time to allow your children lead even as you guide, guard and applaud from behind the scene. Is it not indeed what good fathers do. I sound this alarm again, it is time to retire old folks. The little respect your children have for you is fast diminishing by the day because of very bad examples they have witnessed. The ill- gotten wealth being stored up for them has not made them better rather it has brought very bad choices that has denied them the ability and capacities to earn their way in life and not just take. What people do not work for they squander. So let us allow our children to grow up responsibly and be accountable for their successes and failures.
It is simply time to make amends with your God and reconcile with the nation that gave you so much yet you have treated so very poorly. It is therefore time for old politicians to make peace with Nigeria and her inhabitants at home and abroad. It is finally time to be free and retire to mentor and coach the young generation some of who are your children.
And for the young people it is now your own turn to turn away from all foolishness especially the feeling of entitlement and pride. It is time to gird your waist and be prepared to plough the earth and not look back so you can begin to discover all the hidden treasure beneath the earth that God has been waiting for you to mine all these years. it is time for hard work, innovation and self-discovery. It is time to drive resilience, responsibility, accountability and transparency. It is time to die to self and quit the cheating games, quick fixes and the entitlement mentality and roll up your sleeve so we can redeem our downtrodden nation.
It is the time to prepare for the return of your brothers and sisters who have been over exploited as they work to build other nations that do not appreciate their sacrifices. It is time to unite, bond and tear down all the divisive walls that have kept Nigerians from using her diversity for good. I have been privileged to have traveled widely and I tell you that Nigeria is the best place to live in, and that is why people like me and many others choose to stay and fight till this dawn comes in our time. It is time for the giant of Africa to wake from her slumber and take her uncontested place not just in Africa but all over the world. I am so happy for this awakening, so let no one politicians or any one or group for that matter rock our boat or steal our shine and glory. We are long overdue. God is on our side, the angels are rejoicing and so is the earth. So cheer up people for all is well for justice will be served. As we await the result for tomorrow the 5th of September, may just indeed be served- Like the media say All eyes on the Judiciary.
