GOOD REASONS YOU SHOULD LISTEN TO YOUR BODY

Listening skill is a potent skill. Many have died because they did not hear very many speakings from God, family, friends, colleagues circumstances, weather, environment or atmosphere, animals, plants, and other natural and nonnatural things/events, especially their bodies. All these speak to us in unique ways but we are caught up in our daily activities to pay attention. Since nothing happens, we all must spend time examining each incident to hear what is spoken and learn whatever lessons there are to be learned.

Take for instance prayers, Ironically, prayer is not so much about talking to God, but about listening to hear from God. The much most people know about prayer is to present a retinue of needs, wants, desires, and all to God; expecting Him to wave a magic wand like a magician and get speedy answers to all their prayers. Most of us are in a hurry to arrive so we can show them. Hahahaha. Man man, oh man what an error we have worked in for centuries. This error has gotten so many to walk away from their faith, especially Christians because they have concluded that God whom they serve never listens, nor does He hear, talk of answering prayers. How wrong we all are in this faithless perception of God the Jehovah Jireh- The great provider.

It will amaze you when the time for the revelation of all things comes and you see how many times God has been talking to you but you did not hear. From gentle whispers to shouts and even screams that you ignored. You will also see how He has been using everything created to get your attention and yet you never give Him the time of day. Yes oh, and that my dear is exactly the way our bodies talk to us but we hardly hear.

First, it starts by whispering through the reactions you get when you give it what it does not want. When this happens your body reacts immediately or over time, that it does not feel ok with what you have ingested by the way it will make you feel. That is why the people who are into wellness are very careful what they eat and this is because they constantly listen to their bodies. In listening to our bodies lies the secret to divine healing our Lord Jesus died to purchase for us. A lot of us eat because it tastes and feels good but what tastes and feels good might not be right for your body.

Let’s take a little look at Freedom. You can be free alright but in freedom lies responsibility and accountability. We are free moral agents but yet not so free. Come to think of it, have you wondered why the all-knowing and good God asked his chosen people the Israelites not to eat certain food? Research proves that all the food He asked them not to eat tends to harm their bodies. This same good God has given us the power and ability to take care of our human bodies which is the only place where his spirit dwells; using us to accomplish His purpose on earth. Our responsibility therefore is to keep our bodies alive and healthy so God can live in us long enough to enable us to fulfill our destinies. That is why death and disease have no preference if the body is not well taken care of. Men and women of God die too from exhaustion or poor feeding just like rich or poor. The way you treat your body determines how long and how well it will serve you and God.

In this article, I will attempt to talk about ways you can hear your body talking to you. So it does not matter the pain you have been through in your body through sickness and diseases, the time to kick those pains in the butt and shove them out of your life is now. As you kick sickness and begin to live the life you desire, remember to paint lovely pictures of you and your pain so others can learn and be healed too. As you live healthily never stop sharing what knowledge you have learned with others for therein lies the beauty and purpose of the pains you went through.

Like I said just as God desires to communicate with you, so does your body. So it is very pertinent that from time to time you pause and listen to hear God and your body for the God of the universe chooses your body to dwell in. Remember you are the only thing created in God’s Image and so must be like God. The word of God said in Ps 86:6 said

“You are gods; you are all children of the Most High” Ps. 86:6 [NLT]

Encourage the young ones to eat right  so they will not cry in pain later

The earlier we get our children and our loved ones to begin to listen to their bodies, the healthier and longer they will live. They do not have to wait to go through unnecessary pain like most of us did before we began to listen and avert deadly diseases that even when they do not kill us will leave us living an un – pleasurably life. Honestly, those who are healthy do not know, nor do they appreciate the depth of God’s love for their lives.

Our cravings for certain kinds of food especially the sugar-laden ones can be stopped if we can quit eating them for just a few days. It’s like fasting, once you go a few days your body adjusts, and the hunger pangs abate. If you begin to listen intently; to how your body responds to certain kinds of food you eat, you will begin to eliminate those that spike unpleasant experiences in your body. Some of the reactions we get from eating the wrong food over time include the under-listed and not limited to them. So if you start having any of these symptoms know that your diet needs to be re-evaluated. That is the time to begin to check the symptoms that occur after certain meals. I for example sweat, have headache, and can hardly sleep at night if I eat food rich in caffeine, sugar, or carbohydrates. If you check your body too you will be able to identify the food that spikes these symptoms below.

Eat right, rest and avoid Stress, headache, insomnia etc

These then are the symptoms that tell you something is amiss in your body and get you to pay closer attention. Very young people can still get away with a lot but once you are above 40 or 45 your body begins to select what it wants and what it does not want. So for longevity and healthy living start paying attention to these symptoms below even as you monitor closely what you eat.

Swollen legs

  1. Constant Pain in any part of your body
  2. Sweat
  3. Appetite Change
  4. Lack of sleep
  5. Itchy and dry skin
  6. Blisters or wounds that will not heal
  7. Boils or lumps
  8. Chronic Tiredness
  9. Mood changes
  10. Irregular heartbeat
  11. Blurred vision
  12. Allergies
  13. Intense headache
  14. Unexplained weight loss
  15. Swelling of the legs without injury
  16. Constant fever
  17. Sudden and severe abdominal pain
  18. Dizziness
  19. Confusion and constant forgetfulness
  20. Numbness
  21. Unusual bleeding
  22. Swelling in your legs without injury
  23. Changes to the breast
  24. Facial drooping
  25. Bodily discharge [Mouth, nose, private parts, ears, etc]
  26. Changes in bowel movement
  27. Feelings of worthlessness
  28. Suicidal tendencies
